Howdy y’all!!! I know it’s been a while since you heard from me. Life has been a little hectic for us Lovings. After selling the old house, finding out we’re expecting baby #4!!, and moving 3 times, we are finally getting settled in our new house.
I am working on getting photos taken throughout the house so I can share a full tour, but for now I wanted to show you some pretty stuff. The living room is the only room that is completely decorated so that’s what I’m sharing today.
My main goal for decorating this house is to add as much color and style without painting and altering things in the house. Since a lot of military families live in base homes as well, I want to share these ideas with them. Base housing varies from base to base as far as how much you can alter. Some have very little restrictions and some are extremely restrictive. Our base is pretty lenient, but I’m still going to try to limit my alterations and painting as much as decoratively possible ;-).
The main living area is long and narrow. I’ve separated it into two different areas, the living room on one side and a sitting area/office area on the other. The living room is a jumping off point for the rest of the main areas of the house. I’ve used nearly every color of the rainbow in this room and then I plan to use one of two in the rest of the rooms. This way the house is cohesive, but each room still has it’s own personality. Before you look at the pictures I must warn you…. the quality isn’t the greatest. I’m having trouble adjusting my camera to the light in here, but I’ll keep working on it. I promise.
How cool is that skull??!! It’s a little constant reminder of all the good times we had in Texas. Hopefully I’ll have the full tour up to share with y’all soon. Until then, happy decorating!!
