Hello, friends! I know it’s been a very long time since I have posted any new contact and I appreciate your patience. I spent most of my husband’s deployment focusing on my health and getting back into shape. Needless to say, I didn’t have nearly as much time as I thought I would to blog. But I’m back with a nice long tour for y’all, to include the first ever tour of the gardens. Let’s get started.
Welcome to Quarters C, y’all. One of the first projects I tackled when we moved in 1.5 yrs ago was this front garden bed. I took out all the dead and dying landscape and planted these boxwoods and rhododendrons. I’ve since expanded the beds and added these black urns and a Limelight Hydrangea on the corner. I also plant annuals every season and petunias are my favorite for summer (in particular, Proven Winners Supertunias).
The shade garden was the second bed that I tackled. I have many hostas in here and a couple $5 hydrangeas that were on their deathbed at Lowes. The Red Twig dogwood is a more recent add and looks glorious in the winter. This bed leads to the new gravel patio that we added a few weeks ago. It’s the perfect spot for Jordan to relax while he’s grilling.
This side of the house is the where I spent most of my days this spring. All of our cable boxes, cables, a/c unit and dryer vent is here, so it was begging for some pretty flowers and shrubs. Since it is such a big area, I bought mostly discounted plants and shrubs to cut cost. It looks like a baby now, but will no doubt be full and pretty next year.
And now for the brightest spot in this tour, the porch! I departed from the mostly white cottage look from last year and added every color in the rainbow. We have already spent so much time out here. The girls love to have all our dinners on the porch.
The inside got a huge dose of red, white and blue for Independence Day!
‘Merica! That’s all for the tour. I hope you all enjoyed it and again, thank you for being so patient with me. You all have been following along with my little blog for a while now and are so encouraging. I love being able to share all my ideas with you and am thankful for this creative outlet. Until the next project, y’all!
Beautiful as always!
