It took a lot of motivation to get the porch decorated this year. I blame my husband. He has been a bit of a Grinch with his Christmas lights. Usually the two of us will go out at the beginning of the month and he’ll put up the lights and I’ll decorate, but this year he wasn’t feeling it. I’m not exaggerating y’all. Our icicle lights are still in the shed and he bought projector lights. I call them the lazy man’s Christmas lights. They are pretty but they don’t take the place of regular lights for me.
So after much feet dragging, I finally got the porch finished. It’s not extravagant by any means, but it’s cozy and I like it.
I didn’t want to put wreaths on every window so I opted to put them on my rocking chairs. I also didn’t want to buy Christmas pillows for the chairs so this was a perfect way for me to add some color.
I finally got a chalk marker and it was life changing.
Okay, it wasn’t that serious, but I love it and I’ve used the heck out of it.
I wanted to have my black door for Christmas and as you can tell I was really motivated to do that project. Oh well, it still looks pretty with all that Christmas greenery!
To add a little volume to my faux garland, I added some of the tree trimmings I got from Home Depot.
These little mittens belonged to my oldest girl. I love how something so ordinary and simple can be so cute!
These planters were super easy to create. I put some styrofoam in the bottom and stuck these tall branches in it. Then I piled layers of faux garland on top. I added some ribbon and golden pinecones. Super easy!
I tried to get a picture of my husband’s projector lights. They really are pretty. I have to give him that 😉
And there you have it folks, the final Christmas tour. Have a very Merry Christmas!
