I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, y’all. With our master bedroom finished, I only have Olivia’s room left. I gave myself a year to complete the entire house so we can just enjoy the spaces before we move again. Our one year anniversary is in October so I don’t have long. The master bedroom was probably the most important because what mom and dad don’t need a place to escape and relax that is completely kid free?! Of course, as I type this I am listening to the crunching of gold fish and watching PJ Masks with my littlest girls, so I guess I didn’t really achieve the kid free part :-/. That’s ok because I am sure I will blink and they will be grown, and I will have to beg them to hang out with their ol mama :-(.
Back to the bedroom. While I looked for design inspiration, I was drawn towards dark walls and rooms with a vintage vibe. I used a lot of my vintage finds and Jordan’s collection of books, and lots of photos of our loved ones to give the room a collected, almost curated look. The walls are painted Dark Hunter Green by Glidden. I got really lucky on my thrift store finds because the amazing canopy bed I found pulls the entire look together. I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out and in the words of Jordan, “it’s really cool”.
Come on in and take a look!
Can you believe that I got this bed for $40 at a thrift store?! Because I can’t. We were a little worried that our sleep number bed wouldn’t fit on here, but it worked just like a regular boxspring and mattress.
This bedding is from Pottery Barn. It was on clearance because otherwise, it wouldn’t be here.
Jordan’s dresser is from Ikea. It came unfinished and I painted and stained it. Some of his collection of books are displayed and give him easy access to them. I found these awesome prints of vintage cars at the thrift store.
There is a little bump out in our room that is a perfect spot for my dresser and Jordan’s chair and ottoman. I told him this will be his football watching spot this fall. I may or may not get him a minifridge too. My dresser is another great find from the thrift store. If you follow me on IG or FB, you probably saw it when I first got it. It was a job, but it was worth it. I love how it turned out.
The large black and white striped rug is from Overstock and the smaller rug is from Homegoods.
I have always wanted a large floor mirror and while I tried to bargain shop for most of the items in this room, I splurged on this. I got it from Kirklands and it is worth every penny!
Now, for the best part of this room, our gallery wall. It has a bit of everything, from some vintage pieces, to some military memorabilia and of course, pictures of our favorite people.
I hope you enjoyed the tour! My little assistant and I worked super hard on this room. 🤣
I love sharing all my ideas with you all. Thank you so much for following along on my decorating/DIY journey!
Everything looks fantastic. You are amazing.
